La Tour is located in Blackpool town centre.  It is owned by Una Murray (previously Sayles) and has been under her proprietorship for more than 30 years.  Bought in 1978 by Una and then husband Alec, it was a small 24 room hotel occupying number 92 Albert Road.  Previously Una and Alec owned the Hornby House guest house on Hornby Road (a few streets further south than Albert Road). 

After moving into La Tour they set about upgrading all the rooms and adding en-suite bathrooms (being one of the first hotels in Blackpool to offer all en-suites).  They bought number 94 a few years later and knocked the two buildings together, adding a lift to all floors.  Some rooms were knocked together to make larger family rooms and the property now has 43 rooms.

Una & Alec parted ways in the early 1990's and for some time Una ran the business alone, with the help of her daughter Heather and the excellent staff.  Now remarried to Billy, Una still lives on the premises and oversees all aspects of the business.

The majority of the guests at La Tour have stayed with us before and we like to think it is because of the excellent value for money, friendly service and the atmosphere provided by Una.
